Portfolio case and traveling drawing box. I wanted to build a special case to travel with while on leave from the University this semester. Here are my designs. The box would contain everything needed to survive in the drawing wilderness. The portfolio would be used to hold finished drawings and paintings.

I start out with as many drawings of the box as possible from every angle. Then I know what all sides will look like when I start construction.

Here's the rough box - rough fitted with a water color kit, plastic box with pencils, and an LED lamp for drawing at night. I found a thin clayboard that worked perfectly for the sides of the box. After I cut the pieces, I sand them to fit. I use Weldbond- "More than Great Glue".

I drill out a small section of the cover and slide the strap into it. I use a bit of glue and hammer the leather to fit it into place. Here's the case with one strap attached.
